+ How do I start??

You'll want to get together all assets and content, things like photos (big, high-quality ones), verbiage, logos - anything that you want to put on the site itself. Once you have that, get in touch with us through the form on this site, and we'll begin the consultation process. It's at this point that we will determine the "architecture" and cost of your site. You will then receive a visual flowchart, indication the structural composition of the site as we deem best, as well as an estimate.

+ Okay, we've had our consult. How do I get all my content to you?

Most stuff you can email to us directly. For large files such as your photos, we have a dropbox folder that we can share with you, to make uploading easy.

+ Awesome. Now what?

Now the bobbleheads get to work. We require a 50% deposit as well as all your content in order to begin production; in addition, we'll need both of those things within two weeks of each other. We'll then work up a rough version of your site in about 48 to 72 hours, and send you a link to it which you'll be able to view on desktop browsers or on your smartphone. We'll go through edits, re-writes, and changes - these things are handled quite quickly, and require little more than proofreading on your part. PLEASE NOTE: If we receive your deposit first, we ask that you get us your content no later than two weeks later; waiting longer than that may delay your site's completion. If we have your deposit for longer than 60 days, we reserve the right to refund 75% of that amount and place the project on indefinite hold.

+ So how much will my site cost?

This is a tough question, because there is such a large variety of needs for a website. Some people just need a portfolio site to showcase their work; others want a sort of blogging platform that looks cool; some companies want full-featured sites with lots of bells and whistles. This is why the consultation process is so important - it gives us a sense of the scale of the site you're looking for, things like page count or complexity of the framework. Typically, our sites range between $3,000 to $10,000, depending on complexity, amount of content, and whether or not you want to sell products on the site.

+ Will my site really be finished in 14 days?

Typically, yes! The bobbleheads like to focus on simple, clean design. The less complicated, the better customer experience your site will offer. As a general rule, people don't really like to read, at least when it comes to websites. Most of the time, people just want to get the specific nugget of information they're looking for, then take off, satisfied. On the flip side of that coin, many people will browse a site for a company they know nothing about, but not for very long (usually for no more than 5 minutes). Because of this, we stress the importance of keeping the customer experience streamlined and to the point, while still piquing curiosity, so that they want to get more information because they want to, not because they're frustrated.

+ But why 14 days?

We enforce this "deadline" to keep the bobbleheads quick and efficient in designing the sites, and it nudges you, our client, to make decisions quickly, without dragging your feet. In our experience, thinking about the little details for too long will drive everyone crazy, and it will delay having a finished site.

+ So what happens at the 14-day mark?

At 14 days, it's decision time - you will need to decide if you want to keep the site as we've designed it, or if you want to call it quits. If you decide you want to keep the site, then we make any final changes or edits, and connect the site to your domain name.

+ When will my site go "live"?

You will have 30 days to pay the remainder of the balance due on your invoice; your site will officially be live once that balance is paid in full.

+ What if I want to completely change the look of my site?

We try to accommodate custom requests as much as possible; the templates we use are quite flexible, but they do have limitations. What is available in one might not be a possibility in another. The beauty of this template system is that it forces you to adhere to design rules, to ensure consistency of design throughout the entire site. This way, you can't end up with headers with different typefaces, for example. These limitations also foster creative solutions, which are always fun.

+ I don't have a logo. Can you design one for me?

Yes! The current trend is clean single-color logos, with simple logomarks and interesting typefaces. Logo design is easy, as long as you follow the bobblehead design philosophy - keep it simple, and don't obsess over small details. Basic logos can be included in the cost of the site; more complicated and projects involving branding packages will require additional fees.

+ Will I get a mobile version of my site?

Yes! Actually, it's not a separate mobile site, per se - HTML5 coding allows for viewing the same site across multiple platforms without need for a separate subdomain. What this means is that your site will be designed for phones, desktops, and tablets simultaneously. No more zooming in and squinting - all your content will be presented in an easy to parse format.

+ What about e-commerce? Can I sell things through my site?

Absolutely. We will work with you to determine which online platform will work best to fulfill your needs; Shopify and BigCommerce are two of the biggest players right now, and we will build you a site that will function as an online store, selling products, processing payments, and marketing all done through the site itself.

+ I want to make edits to my site or update the content after you've finished the design - is that easy to do?

Yes! Included in the cost of our site design is 12 months worth of edits and general administrative services. After that, it's up to you if you want to continue to contract us to make edits/updates, or if you want to take that on yourself. To give you an idea of how updating the site works, all you would have to do is email us with your content changes (menu pricing, contact information, etc.) and we can make those edits within 48 hours. If you want to add or remove images from the site, simply email us the new images and we'll update those as well.

+ Do I retain ownership of my site after you've designed it?

Once payment has been made to us in full, we will stay on as administrators of the site content for one year; at the same time, we will add you to the site as a contributor. We will both be able to login and make any content changes. At that time, you can opt to become the sole administrator of the site, and we will hand over the reins to you; otherwise, you can use our services for the first year, then make the decision after that period is over. Ownership rights will be yours for as long as you pay the yearly hosting costs.

+ Will you set up our domain as well?

Yes! If you don't own a domain name, we can set that up for you.

+ What if I already have a domain name - can you switch that over to the new site?

It gets a little technical, and we may need to get access to your account for the domain you own, but it's a relatively simple process.

+ I would like an email address tied to my site - can you do that?

Yes, we will create and configure 2 email accounts using your domain. We use google mail as the framework, so you can access your messages from any computer or mobile device.

+ What about search engine optimization? (SEO)

This is taken care of through the verbiage on the site proper. Search engines don't really use keywords anymore, they just "read" the site. This means that the more descriptive, easy-to-search-for text your site has, the better. This also means that good editing is key.

+ What if I'm not satisfied with what you've designed after the 14 day period?

No worries. We will simply refund 90% of your deposit and part ways. :(
